Kapo Israel touches base
Dancehall, reggae and hip-hop sensation Kapo Israel was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. He lived in England for 6 years, where he signed to a record label called Seriously Hectic Records.
During this time he had the opportunity to travel around Europe with some of the label’s other recording artists to perform and promote their hit single, “History in the Making”, which was broadcast across Europe via MTV Base and was also on the National Urban music video program’s Top 20 charts for 4 months.
Kapo Israel accumulated his battle prize funds and travelled to Ethiopia, which is where his heart is. Kapo Israel is a Rasta man, which is reflected in his music. He has travelled to Kenya with one of reggae’s most conscious singers, Luciano and the Jah Messenger Crew as a guest artist. Kapo has also travelled around Ethiopia, performing and promoting his hit single “Hagarachin” (our country) in places such as Shashemene, Nazareth, Bahir Dar and Dessie. He has performed in Addis at the Millennium Hall, Harlem Jazz, Tropical Gardens and various other locations.
Kapo recently shot a new music video in Addis with Zeleman Production to accompany his latest release, ‘Rise Up’. Presently he is working on a dancehall-reggae album with the jungle crew AKA Jungle Production.
You can catch Kapo at, Vibrations on a Sunday night, Harlem Jazz, The Showroom and other lively nightspots around town.

I WANT TO CHANGE A YOUNG CHILD’S LIFE!
Our Fathers Kitchen is a child - feeding programme operating under the umbrella of HAPCSO Vulnerable children. Many orphans and some living with HIV/AIDS are fed once a day to help them go to school and live a healthy life.
This project is a partnership between HAPCSO, Beza Lewegen, FHI and
the Lime Tree.
Every time I enjoy a meal with friends and family, I want to make sure that somewhere in Addis a less fortunate child is being fed.
