My personal connection to art inspired me to create AidaB Creations. My creative abilities stemmed from grade school in Ethiopia. My art celebrates the strength of women. 90% of my paintings focus on women, which is a reflection of myself and the strong women with whom I have shared my life with. My mother, rest her soul, was the biggest advocate for my passion. She encouraged me, she believed in me when I did not believe in myself and she blessed me with her creative qualities.
My story began when I finally realized that my art was worth showcasing. My first show was April 27, 2001. Although I had several shows in the past, I still had difficulty parting with my sold paintings. Each painting has a story behind it, and for me, parting from a painting is the equivalent to giving unlimited access to my world. When I create a painting, I paint my happiness, my sorrow, my passion, my weakness, my strength, my failure, my accomplishment, my inner struggle, my insecurity, my thoughts, my life. I have told myself that my paintings could not have a price tag because I was not ready to share myself with the world.
I believe everything unfolds at the right moment. Now I am ready to share all of my paintings with the world and be at peace with parting from my creations. My mission is to share my art with those who are hungry to take in the lines, colors, textures, and depth of my art pieces. I hope that my art will give them the same satisfaction that I gain out of creating it.
