Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Lands in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa recently hosted one of the world’s most prestigious corporate sporting events, as the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup made its stop at the Addis Ababa Golf Club on April 25. The event brought together prominent figures from the business community and local high-profile guests for a day of competitive sport and networking.

Launched in 2013, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup has grown into the largest corporate golf tournament globally, with over 10,000 players competing across more than 130 tournaments in 84 countries. The Addis Ababa edition marked the 9th stop in this year’s global series of 139 events.

Leading the competition, Yassin Awale claimed the championship title with an impressive net score of 71. Kibur Teodros secured second place, followed by Tilaye Getaneh in third. Special awards included Thomas De Spirlet, who won the “Closest to the Pin,” and Aklilu Haile, who earned the Gross award with a score of 73.

Speaking at the event, Turkish Airlines’ General Manager in Addis Ababa, Ali Bulut, emphasized the role of sport in strengthening international connections and bringing communities together.

Winners from each global tournament will advance to the Grand Finals in Türkiye, traveling in the comfort of Turkish Airlines’ Business Class. The tournament continues to highlight Antalya as a leading global golf destination, supported by partners such as Gloria Hotels & Resorts.
