Fidesa Literary and Littmann Books Launch New Era of Ethiopian Publishing
Fidesa Literary and Littmann Books have announced a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening Ethiopia’s literary landscape and expanding access to both local and international works. The collaboration unites Fidesa Literary, a platform dedicated to promoting Ethiopian writers and storytelling, with Littmann Books, an independent Addis Ababa bookstore known for its curated selection and active reader engagement.
Together, the two institutions aim to build more inclusive literary spaces where readers can easily discover Ethiopian voices alongside global literature. Their shared vision includes improving book accessibility, organizing literary events, and fostering dialogue between authors, publishers, and readers. A key focus of the partnership is also encouraging young readers and supporting emerging Ethiopian writers.
The first publication under this collaboration is Couch Grass by Couch Grass, written by Adam Reta and translated into English by Bethlehem Attfield, helping the work reach a wider international audience.
Fidesa Literary will primarily support international distribution and online visibility, while Littmann Books will serve as a key local hub for physical access and Ethiopian titles.
